Duddingston Village Cornice Restoration

Project background

We are regularly requested by our customers to restore their original Cornice prior to them Re decorating. The main reason for this request is more often than not due to an excessive build of paint created by years and years of painting resulting in the Original Cornice Enrichment’s losing their definition and beauty. On this occasion Mr. Tang’s Hall Cornice was not in the best of condition and he was looking for help and advice as to how his Original Cornice could be restored to its former glory.

Approach Taken

To achieve this a small section of Mr. Tang’s enrichment was required to start the reproduction process. Once this section was stripped of all its excessive paint an original cast was Re born. This was then used to make a new Silicone mould which then allowed us to reproduce the required amount and also ensured that all Mr. Tang’s Enrichment was identical. These were then fitted on site after the removal of all the existing casts from the Cornice bed, leaving Mr Tang with the finish he so desired. We also supplied and fitted a new Pre Cast Cornice from our award winning suppliers in the Dining Room along with Re-Plastering various ceilings and walls throughout the property.

Project Feedback

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your team for an excellent job, as always your team have done a great job with care and professionalism. Please pass on my thanks to them. The Cornice looks great!” Kind Regards, Eros Tang
